operations in Khyber Agency, thousands of children are prone to different
challenges. A number of national and international humanitarian organizations

too many troubles. A program, Child Protection is being run to keep these
tribal children busy in extra curriculum activities. The Center of Excellence for
Rural Development is running this program in collaboration with UNICEF at Jalozai IDPs Camp. Two
centers for child protections have been established. These centers provide
mental health care facilities to the militancy-affected children. They also
keep these the children engaged in different sports and social activities after
their school time. A child in the center said that when three mortar shells
landed in their house, his parents decided to leave the area and they came to
this IDPs camp. Social activists related to the organization said that
currently as many as three hundred children have been getting different facilities
in the centers. Recreational activities are given a special priority so that
these children are not affected mentally by terrorism in their respective areas
in a negative way. The children are kept in the center till evening. Coordinator
of the program, Neelam Gul said that the children are taught about cleanliness,
recreational activities, importance of sports and extra-curriculum activities

mothers are being trained in the centers how to make their children responsible
citizens of the society. The other day a kite competition was held in the
